HTML email campaigns
Creation of a styled email campaigns for 2 organisations. It was
important to keep the text brief, relevant and to make emails stand out
from other companies by using HTML to format the email.
As many
HTML emails can get complaints for usability this became of major
concern during this project. You can see the first email styled this
way here

Description:
- Defining function of email in relation to the client
-
Writing copy for the web. Concise, bulleted, headings, small paragraphs etc
-
Identifying key information for HTML email. Disclaimer, link to
website, event heading, logo, unsubscribe, footer with address
information
-
Building a CSS driven HTML email and realising the intricacy after
reading an article
-
Creating import/export of contact details to CSV file
-
Using listmessenger to manage unbsubscribes, lists and large mailouts with more automation than before
-
Incorporating suitable feedback forms and subscription forms into the front end of the website
-
Set up of suitable POP account to administer the email feedback from newsletters
-
Usability testing in various email client software and browser based
email solutions. Trial and error for letter spacing and page margins
across the different interfaces. Solution was to use larger font sizes
in pixels and not ems and also to leave small margins to allow for
variable interfaces for reading email.
-
Using email to explain larger articles on the website, keeping email to an overview rather than the in depth explanation.
