Week long art residency in Vivid, Birmingham run by PVA lab culture in which I was expected to produce finished artwork through investigations in new media.

Description:

  • Research around gardens and text on ancient Babylon myths
  • Testing miniDV and Professional BetaSX Cameras for keying properties in After Effects
  • Learning functions of broadcast quality Sony camera
  • Re-appropriating Final Cut Pro skills to an old Avid Media Composer
  • Experiment with an internal voice by walking through building whilst recording a text from internet on Babylon
  • Storyboarding shots of a maze and garden
  • Editing 10 second sections of the gardens into strange slow paced combinations of shots
  • Colout correcting sections of the film to heighten experience
