Digital Video Beginners

Introduce basic concepts around digital video whilst involving students in creative activities using camera and editing software with immediate outcomes. List techniques used in preproduction planning e.g. basic storyboarding, scriptwriting

Agreed learning outcomes. At the end of the course, the learner should:

• Use the basic functions of a DV camera (turn it on, focus)
• Compare different approaches to editing based on various types of footage
• Understand whhat digital video is and key concepts like timecode, project files, media files
• Know how to capture video in an ordered and logical manner
• Demonstrate effectively printing an edited video from computer to digital video deck/camera.
